Why does it take so long to get my dog groomed?

πŸ™‚ We work with live animals who are unpredictable.

πŸ™‚ Some are elderly, or have health problems.

πŸ™‚ Some have reactive behavioural tendencies.

πŸ™‚ Some have not been groomed in 3 months, 6 months, a year, or ever.

πŸ™‚ Some are nervous and require lots of breaks and snuggles.

πŸ™‚ Some have matted coats πŸ™

πŸ™‚ Some are super goofy and think they are at tap-dancing class not the Pooch Parlour.

πŸ™‚ Some didn’t get a good potty break in the morning, have an accident during grooming or in a kennel and need more than one bath.

πŸ™‚ Some are terrified of the dryer and need to air-dry.

πŸ™‚ Our groomers dry everything by hand. (For a large dog this can take two hours +)

πŸ™‚ Some dogs who require extensive brushing have health complications that mean they can’t stand for extended periods of time.Β  They need breaks.

Your Groomers at A Royal Touch Pooch Parlour have a Safety First approach to grooming your pet.Β Β Please allow us to put the proper time and effort into helping your pet get used to the grooming process.Β  This only helps your dog have a more enjoyable experience with us and learns that grooming is not a stressful occasional experience, but part of a regular routine. If your dog is especially reactive, call us and pop by for a consult.Β  We offer express grooms (for an additional fee) on weekday afternoons only when the salon is quiet.

Love and Grooming,

Jeanette.

Also, we love to look back every day and review the montage of happy tails, excited pups and happy owners upon being reunited πŸ™‚

A Royal Touch Pooch Parlour always makes the best efforts to follow client requests, balancing them with the condition of the dog and keeping first and foremost to our published and well-known cruelty-free policy.

(excerpt below)

“………The dematting debate is a hot topic at any grooming salon. Want a hand scissored Teddy Bear? Show cut? Plan on visiting us every six weeks and brushing your dog twenty minutes three times a week in between. Any less and your dog may have too many matts and require shaving. Your groomer reserves the right to refuse to perform services that are considered inhumane. Dematting in excess of ten percent of the coat is inhumane, and will not be done at our salon. We are happy to provide a short trim fresh start and complimentary brushing lessons to our clientele.”

Love and Grooming,

Jeanette.
